Megan Turned 1

Megan's Birthday was at the beginning of the month and it was so much fun. Daddy was home from work so it made it extra special. We hung out for most of the day and then went out for dinner where she got to have an ice cream sundae. I can't believe it has been a year already. She weighs 20 pounds and is 28 1/4 inches tall. She is standing up and will walk with assistance. She is so happy and such a joy to have in our family.

Here are her 1 year old photos!
Her birthday celebration! Her Brother's helped her open her gifts!Daddy put up her new swing and she loves it.Getting to turn around in her car seat. Nana (Dan's Mom) made this adorable dress and doll for Megan, I can't believe how cute it is. This is a gift that we will treasure forever!

Quick Visit

Daniel's Nephew was in California from Oklahoma with his High School Band preforming at Disneyland for the weekend. We were so sad when we found out that our passes where blackout for the weekend because of Mother's Day so we weren't going to be able to see him perform in the parade. But since he was here we made plans to see him for a couple of minutes at his hotel. Dan unfortunately got stuck at work and wasn't able to meet up with us, but I am so glad I took the kids down to meet with him, it was a perfect little visit. I have met DJ three times now and I must say this was my favorite visit with him yet, not that the other times anything was wrong it was just that he has grown into a wonderful young man. He has matured so much and he was so cute with the kids. He kept talking to Christian wanting to know all about school and stuff. Then he talked to Ryan all about Disneyland and the rides he should go on. I hope he had a wonderful time here in California and we hope he and his family will be out again soon to visit. This was his first time meeting Megan, unfortunately I didn't get a better picture of them together but at least I got something to document it.Daniel called while we were there visiting so they at least got to talk on the phone for a couple of minutes. Here are some photos from my previous visits with DJ so you can see how much he has grown!

Party

The party was a huge success. The kids had a great time and everyone got along great! With Ryan's obsession with cows and needing a gender neutral theme I decided to have a farm party. I am so glad I did because everything turned out great.I asked my friend Jennifer if she could make a farm animal cake for the kids birthday. Well lets just say she went way above and beyond. She made incredible cupcakes, two different cakes and they tasted even better than they looked. I wanted to cry when I saw it all set up because it was so much better than I had envisioned. Thanks Jenn for making the kids day even better. She dropped them off about 9 and the party didn't start until noon, big mistake on my part because Ryan wanted the cupcakes so bad he couldn't wait. It wasn't really fair for me to ask a 3 year old to wait that long! The details on the cupcakes were amazing! This was Megan's Piggy cake. Since we started talking about the party Ryan had said that he was going to be the cow, Christian would be the horse and Megan was the pig. I love the way this cake turned out!We started the party with lunch, I was so thankful that is was such a beautiful day, not to hot or windy. It was perfect to enjoy the afternoon in the backyard. We decorated farm animals, and played some fun farm games!Ryan and Megan loved all the gifts and have enjoyed playing with them every day since! We ended the party with cake and ice cream. They kids had a wonderful time and Megan loved being able to eat the cake all by herself!
It was a wonderful day and we are so thankful for everyone that came and celebrated with us!

Lego Race

A couple weeks ago Dan had a week off of work and decided it was time to get the Lego's out. They have been packed in storage bins since we moved. So he started sorting them by color and by type and has spent almost every night since working with them. He has now started to build this massive castle with Christian that is amazing and I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is finished. It has taken him a little longer than expected to finish, Ryan plays with it so he has to rebuild a little everyday. So a couple of weeks ago he decided that it would be fun to let all the kids build their own cars and have a race. They all loved it and it was the perfect Sunday night activity.
