Or so we thought. So Dan wanted to go up to Mt. Baldy to let the kids play in the snow on Saturday. It was a beautiful day it was around 60 degrees so about noon we decided to head up there. Now Dan works up there a lot and told me that it is about a thirty minute drive so it would be closer than driving to Wrightwood or any of the other snow areas. Well after two hours of sitting in traffic and only about half way there I told him that it was not going to be worth it but he said he really wanted to do it and Christian was so excited about it. So we continued up the mountain. Well about thirty minutes later there was a sign that says Snow Chains required (which we didn't have) so we finally turned around. Of course Christian got really upset about this so on our drive home we saw some snow that had fallen off someones truck and we pulled over I jumped out pick up a big chunk of snow and gave it to Christian. He was so excited about it and played with it until it melted. If I would have known that giving him a chunk would have been sufficient I would have stopped a car that had pasted us two hours before and asked them if we could have some snow out of their truck bed. So we didn't play in the snow but Christian still had a good time. We will have to try again later or maybe go up to Utah where there is snow everywhere.

9 months
Today Ryan is nine months old. It has been so incredible to watch him grow. He is weighing in at 19 1/2 pounds and he is 27 inches long. So he is a little tank but we love him. I can't imagine our family without him.
Today is also my Mom's birthday. We have had fun this past week celebrating it we have gone out as a family three different times. She is such an incredible woman and deserves all the attention. Happy Birthday Mom, I love you!

Love Tag
So this was on Rachel's blog and I thought it was really cute. Our story isn't that old but I still like it.
Where did you meet your husband?
I met Daniel through a friend he and Wyman were roommates, so I guess you could say the first time I met him was at his apartment. Wyman thought that it would be fun if we all hung out since he wanted Daniel to learn more about the church.
What was the first thing he said to you?
Hi, and then he said "Wyman said that you like to see movies, there are some really good ones out right now we should go see a movie sometime."
When was your first date?
Well that depends because we couldn't date until his divorce was final so our first official date was Feb. 16, 2005 but we had been hanging out since December 2003. We went to Ruby's on the Pier and it was the perfect night.
These are pictures of Dan's baptism. He was baptised in April 04 so these photos are the furthest back I have on the computer.
Look how young Christian was!
When was your first kiss?
Our first kiss was actually before our first date. We kissed in the car right after he got the phone call from his attorney telling us that his divorce was finalized. Romantic right!
Long/short courtship/engagement?
Ok so we got engaged March 18, 2005 so we had only been dating for a month but remember I had known him since Dec 03. So it was short for him since his divorce had only been finalized for a month but it was long for me. I waited forever it seemed like for everything to be over and finalized with his ex.
Here is a video of our engagement. It was totally unexpected. I am not very fond of the spot light I guess you could say so the way he proposed was not at all comfortable for me. As you can see in the video he wasn't comfortable either, he didn't even get the ring out and then he runs off the court.
This is a really great but long story of how he pulled this all off so ask me and I will tell you.

When did you get married?
We were married July 30, 2005 in the Los Angeles Temple. It was the perfect weekend. Almost all of our family were there and the weather was perfect. Unfortunately we had taken his family to the beach the day before so I was totally sunburned.
Where did you honeymoon?
We bought our house two weeks before we got married so we didn't have a lot of money for a honeymoon, so we unpacked for the first couple days of our honeymoon and then we went down to San Diego for another couple of days. It was nice just to be together and get organized.

New bike
Christian got a new bike with some money he got for his birthday. He had out grown his old one and loves the new bigger bike. His favorite part is that the bike has a kick stand. It is nice because Ryan loves being outside so I get to relax and read a magazine while Christian rides up and down our street.

Blessing
Well Madison June Garthe was blessed today, it was a wonderful and spiritual day spent with family and friends. Ryan and Christian had a great time playing with cousins.
This is Christian acting goofy as usual!
This is Madison, Sara and Ryan. Ryan is 8 months, Sara is 5 months and Madison is 1 Month. It is so fun to have them so close in age. There is another cousin Trent that is 1 years old, so there is actually 4 of them with in a year. I can't wait for them to grow up, they are all going to be the best of friends! You can't tell by this photo but Ryan looks so tan next to his very white cousins, it is nice because I have never been tan so hopefully he has gotten some of his dad's skin.

2008
I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. This past week has been filled with Parties and Football. First Christian's birthday, then the Patriot game, then New Year's Eve at our house with Friends and Family and then New Year's Day was spent at a friend's house watching all the College bowl games and playing games. We had a wonderful time and feel so blessed. 2007 was a great year we had Ryan join our family and we have grown closer as a family. We pray that in 2008 we can be heathly, happy and more grateful to our Heavenly Father for all he has given us. Here are some photos from all our fun this past weekend.
