Mud Run 2010

Christian and his cousin Brittany participated in a 1K mud run a few weekends ago. They had such a great time and helped each other out through out the course. It was held at the San Bernardino County Sheriffs facility. At the beginning of the race a fire truck sprayed them all with their fire hose to get them wet so the dirt would stick. They then ran for about a quarter of a mile and then the obstacles began. They had to run through mud pits, but Christian decided to swim through most of them. They had to run up and over about 15 mud hills and then go over cement barriers. They were both extremely tired when they were finished but they did really great. Brittany was a little nervous since it was her first time and didn't really get dirty till about the end. Ryan wanted to be in the race as well so he tried to get dirty every chance I looked away. At one point he got stuck in the mud and a nice fireman pulled him out. They had water trucks at the end so they could wash themselves off but it was really cold so they didn't get very clean. Once they got home we made them go straight to the showers. They had so much fun they can't wait to do it again next year.

Camping

Dan went on a camp out a couple of weekends ago with the church for Fathers and Sons. He took Christian and Ryan this year. They had a lot of fun and Ryan loved sleeping in the tent with Daddy. They had a service project where they had to dig a ditch for piping or something and came home so dirty I couldn't believe it. The first thing Ryan said to me was "Dirt Mom, lots of Dirt". I was so grateful that they went and had a wonderful time. They didn't take very many pictures of course but Dan did manage to take a few. I also had a wonderful weekend as well with my Mom, Sister, Nieces and Megan. We went out to dinner and saw a movie. It was a nice break for all of us!

Megan Turned 1

Megan's Birthday was at the beginning of the month and it was so much fun. Daddy was home from work so it made it extra special. We hung out for most of the day and then went out for dinner where she got to have an ice cream sundae. I can't believe it has been a year already. She weighs 20 pounds and is 28 1/4 inches tall. She is standing up and will walk with assistance. She is so happy and such a joy to have in our family.

Here are her 1 year old photos!
