8 is Great

Today was Christian's 8th Birthday, I can't believe he is eight. All day long he kept saying "I am so happy I am finally 8". We had a nice relaxing day since Ryan and I both are suffering from a cold. We are going to do his Birthday party on Wednesday night so it was just the four of us which was really nice. We did presents, watched football, had cake and of course played Lego's and guns. I made Christian's favorite dinner but his favorite part of the day was that we let him stay up till 8 since he is now 8 (he usually goes to bed at 7:30) it was really cute how excited he got over it. Other than the fact that the Patriot's didn't get into the playoffs it was the perfect day!

Night Out

Well I got very lucky last night and Dan got off work at 3 and told me to call my Mom and see if she would babysit Ryan so that we could go out. She of course said yes and Dan and I went to Downtown Disney to do some shopping for Christian's birthday and then we went to dinner. It was so nice to be able to sit down and have a real conversation with him. Thanks Mom for letting us get out for a couple of hours. Unfortunately we came home to Ryan being sick with a terrible cough and a fever. So we were back to reality and ended up having Ryan up for most of the night, but I wouldn't trade it for our time alone.

Christmas Update

I can't believe that Christmas has come and gone already. The last two weeks have been really crazy we are still having plumbing issues, we have had a lot of fun parties, and spent some great time with family.
We had Nico and Sydney for a night we made graham cracker houses and went and looked at the Christmas lights in Rancho Cucamonga. It was really cold that night but we had a great time.

Then the Hathaway's invited us over for a night of decorating cookies and making graham cracker houses. Ryan loved eating the candy more than decorating and Christian made a three story house but it only stood long enough for me to get the picture. Christian had a great time letting the kids attack him and Ryan loved pushing this little red chair around their backyard. Thanks for such a great night. We were so blessed this Christmas and we had an incredible day. Christian spent the morning with his Mom and then we opened gifts at our house and then headed to my sister's to open more gifts and have an amazing dinner. The boys loved all their gifts and couldn't wait to get them open and play with them. My Christmas wish came true and I am finally feeling better. Unfortunately with all the rain we have gotten, Dan has been working 70 hour work weeks. So I have pretty much been a single parent which has made me extremely tired all the time. He works 6 days a week but luckily got Christmas day off and will have New Years Day. Other than that he doesn't have anytime off so it doesn't look like he will be getting to go to my Ultrasound with me. I am not sure if I am going to find out what we are having or not, he still wants me to of course but I don't think I can do it without him. My appointment is the 30th so we will see. We also attended an Adult only party which was so fun but I didn't get any pictures of that night. My mom kept Ryan over night for us which was great except I didn't get to sleep in since the plumber's were coming early the next morning. Lastly, I wanted to add this picture of Ryan that we took a couple of weeks ago he really loves playing Army with Christian and takes it very seriously.

Happy Birthday

Today is Daniel's Mom's Birthday so I just wanted to write a little bit to let her know that we miss her and wish we could be with her. You are such an amazing person and I am so lucky to have you as a mother in law. I hope you have a wonderful birthday! Here are some pictures from when she came and spent the week with us after I had Ryan.

Miserable Day

Yesterday was one of those days that make me wish I wasn't a home owner. Dan was downstairs while I was still getting ready in the morning when he started yelling for me to hurry down, bring towels it was an emergency. Well when I came down stairs I found that our water heater was leaking. Now our water heater is in the laundry/sports room and we have that whole area covered with drapes so when we are in that room we are not looking at the the washer, the furnace and the water heater. So basically we have no idea how long it had been leaking, Dan found out because there was a funny smell and when he started looking around he found the leak. Now our water heater sits on a drywall box and the water had been running down the box onto the concrete which then lead to it going under our hard wood floor. So Dan quickly drilled a hole under the box so the water would drain into a pot. So a plumber came out and we have to replace the whole unit and of course Dan wants the tankless water heater which is like a 1000 more then a regular one. On top of all this going on, Ryan decided to pull the stockings down from the mantel and it made two snow globes fall and break. So then we had glass, water and glitter all over the family room. It just wasn't a good day. The biggest problem I am having is that why did this have to happen this month, things are already tight enough with it being Christmas and Christian's birthday this month and now we have to add an additional bill for the water heater. WHY DON'T WE JUST RENT AGAIN?????

Cookies

For Family Night last night (we do it on Tuesday instead of Monday to avoid Monday night Football) we got together with my Parents and my Sister's family to make sugar cookies and of course chocolate chip cookies for Dan. We had a really great time and other than the batch that burnt they were delicious.

Christian and My Dad played card games until everyone got there.

Christian and Ryan loved cutting the dough out and of course decorating the cookies.

Enjoying the cookies!

Also, yesterday Ryan discovered Christian's scooter, he was trying to figure it out all afternoon then Dan came home and he brought Ryan into the house looking like this! But poor Dan had to push Ryan around like this for about 30 minutes before Ryan would let him stop. I really love these guys!

Fun with Santa

This weekend we had a Christmas party at church where we all had breakfast and then the kids got to see Santa. The good thing was that Ryan was not scared of him but it was past his nap time so we didn't get any great pictures, actually the pictures are pretty awful but it is part of this time of year so I had to post them. Charles and Madison with their parents joined us and we had a great time. Dan brought our elf hat and everyone got a kick out of him wearing it but I think Charles looked the best in it.Also, Christian wanted to show Nana Rogers that it is finally cold enough that they can wear their Patriots jackets.
