We went to the studio on Monday so that Jessica could take some pictures of Ryan. I loved the way they turned out, here are a few of my favorites...

Thanks Jess!

Dr's Appt.

Well Ryan is 21 pounds and 28 1/2 inches long. His Doctor is a little worried because he is only in the 5th percentile so she would like us to supplement one bottle a day with the Similac Go & Grow formula. When I told Daniel about the formula he said it is the HGH for Babies. Ryan was really good until they gave him the three shots then he cried himself to sleep. The doctor also said that he should be saying two to four words by now, which he doesn't say anything that I can understand, so we will have to try and work on that as well.

Party

Yesterday we had Ryan's Birthday Party. It was so much fun unfortunately during the presents Ryan was pretty tired but other than that he was an Angel. We had some close friends and family come over, played some games, had a BBQ and of course Ryan got his cake. It was the perfect afternoon and we are so grateful for all the gifts Ryan was given. He got a lot of summer clothes and some pretty fun toys. We have Ryan's doctors appt today so I will update everyone tomorrow as to how he has grown.

This is Daniel's Great Uncle and Aunt we were so glad that they came.

He loved the wrapping paper.

He loved the cake as was so mad when I took it away!

Baseball Game

Last night Dan and I got to go the Dodger's game. We went with Nick and Rachel and it was so great to get out with out the kids. My Mom and Jessica were so nice to watch Ryan so that we could have a night out, I definitely needed it. We had so much fun even though the Dodger's lost. I love baseball games especially when you are there with great company. My sister found this amazing deal where we got to sit on the field level for $15 dollars. It was great to be so close to the players. I ate way to much but you can't go to a baseball game and not have a hot dog, peanuts and licorice. We are going to the Angel-Dodger game in a couple of weeks and I am totally excited, we are going to take the kids so it will be fun since Christian is so into sports right now.

Boasting

Yesterday Rachel and I ran for a quarter of a mile than walked a minute and than ran another quarter of a mile. It was so incredible, I ran a half a mile. If you would have told me 4 weeks ago that I would be doing this I would have said that you were crazy. I feel so great and until yesterday I didn't think I would really be able to run the 5k in 10 weeks but now I really think it may be a reality. Sorry to boast but I am just so excited.

Ryan turns one

I can't believe that it has been a year already. In some ways it feels like just yesterday we were getting everything ready for his arrival, but in other ways I can't remember life without him. He is really such a sweet and fun boy. I love the joy he brings to our family. We had a really great day today, I was able to stay home with him and it was good because he woke up kind of sick. But he took a three hour nap this morning and then was feeling much better. We went to the park and played and then had a little party for him with just us. We gave him our gifts and went out to dinner to Outback(which is one of Dan's favorite restaurant's), they sang to him and we actually let him have the ice cream. Well actually he just ate the Oreo's and whip cream on the top and than I gave the rest to Christian. He is having a party on Sunday where he will get to eat the cake. I think his favorite part of the whole day was playing with the balloons Christian blew up for him (thanks Kenna, Christian said that we have to do balloons in the hallway from now on). Well I just want to share 10 highlights or blessings from the past year of Ryan's life.

1. A big brother who just adores Ryan and will do anything and everything for him.

2. Wonderful Vacations with both sides of our families.

3. Grandma's that love Ryan almost as much as I do.

4. Babysitters that I feel really love Ryan and I feel comfortable leaving him with while I have to work. (Sorry Jessica B. I don't have any pictures of you or a better one of you, Rachel)

5. My husband who I feel is the most amazing Father!

6. Wonderful Cousins (Sorry I don't have pictures with all the cousins)

7. A baby who sleeps pretty much through the night, I promise he is in there.

8. Grandpa's who treat him like a little man. (Sorry PawPaw I don't have any of you holding Ryan, Nana do you have any?)

9. This amazing smile that just makes my day.

A Couple of 1st

On Saturday night we went over to the Garces home to watch my first fight. I actually enjoyed it, which I was really surprised about. We watched the UFC fight. I like that the fights seemed to be really short like no more than 15 minutes and that the men were really respectful of each other. We had a great night it was fun to finally watch a fight.

Next Ryan got his first hair cut. We didn't cut much we just had it cleaned up a bit. He loved the whole experience and was crying when it was time to get out of the car.

Also Ryan got stuck for his first time. It was so funny he crawled into the bottom of the bar stool and then he couldn't figure out how to get out. At first he was laughing especially when I got out the camera but when he still couldn't figure it out without bumping his head he began to cry until I took him out.

Lastly Dan's older sister had her first baby on Friday. We are so excited for them and can't wait to meet Brady. He is so adorable and sweet. Hopefully we will get a chance to see them sometime this year.

Catch up

I feel like I don't have any time to blog lately so I am going to play catch up today. First off my work has completely downsized and now we are in the middle of moving to a smaller office suite so work has been totally crazy. Then Christian's mom has started working the day shift so she can't get back from LA in time to pick him up for school so I am now picking him up everyday. It is nice that we get to spend more time with him but not having the two afternoons to do things has really been difficult. Ryan has decided that he is to big for baby food so it has been an adjustment trying to figure out which foods he will eat. Which has made dinner time more of a challenge for me. Also, my sister in law challenged me to run in a 5k with her in July. She ran a marathon in January and when we went to Texas she was so excited about it and gave me training materials so that I can get back in to shape and run with her when she comes in July. Thank goodness my amazing friend Rachel said that she would train with me otherwise I don't think I would have had the motivation to finish out the week. Rachel pushed me when I needed to be pushed and help me not to quick when I only had a little further to run. It has really been nice to get out and have sometime to talk and exercise. Then on Thursday night I had a girls night out, I had good food, good company and a funny movie. It was exactly what I needed. Lastly we took Christian and his friend Sydney ice skating yesterday. We have probably taken Christian skating 15 to 20 times and this was Sydney's first time. She was a natural and only held the wall for like a minute and then she was off. I think she only fell 2 or 3 times while Christian fell 2 or 3 times each time around the rink. So there you have it. I will try and do better next week and separate every event so that my posts or not so long.

This is what happens every afternoon when all the neighborhood kids come over to play. It becomes dress up time. Christian is the one with the mask.

Christian and Sydney waiting to skate.

The three of them were dancing on the ice at this point.

Fun Weekend

Well we had a wondeful weekend. It started with Friday Night Dan had to work a little late so I put Ryan down to bed early and then once he got home we were able to have dinner by ourselves which hasn't happened in awhile. Then we got to sleep in till 9 on Saturday and we spent the day watching Conference and relaxing. Saturday night Dan went to Priesthood session and My Mom, My Sister and I went to the Angel Game with the kids. It was so much fun, it was opening weekend and the Angels won which is always good. The game started at 6 so about the 6th inning Ryan got tired and fell asleep until the 9th . The game was really quick and we were in the car going home by 9. I actually got tickets to an Angel game every month this season and I am so excited. I love baseball games. Then today we went over to a friends house to watch conference and had an amazing brunch with them. It was such a nice relaxing weekend. It was definetly needed after our long vacation. I hope this week will be just as nice and relaxing.
