This past weekend was a lot of fun. We went out on Friday night as a family for my birthday we went to Island's and had a great time. On Saturday Christian had his first football game. He is on the Bronco's again and he did really great and his team won. The game for me was not as enjoyable as last year since now Ryan refuses to sit in his stroller. He was constantly running on the field or trying to take the cones from the side lines. So it was pretty hectic for me but we made it through. Christian is also the youngest on the team and the shortest it was fun to watch him try and keep up with the kids. We also took some pictures of the boys in the morning. They turned out really great and I can't wait to see them all edited. Also, on Saturday my parent's came out and had dinner with us. It was nice to hang out with just them it has been a while since we hung out with just my parents. On Sunday we were able to just relax and Ryan and I started to get sick. I am still not feeling any better but Ryan seems to be fine.

These are the only two pictures I have so far from the photo shoot but once I get them all I will be sure to upload them because I just love the way they turned out.

Hurricane Ike

Well My Brother and his family are doing really well considering they have been without power for 7 days and they have not gone to the store. They did lose all their food in their fridge and freezer but they have been having a great time and a look at these pictures will show you how lucky there were to have no damage to their house. My Brother had to go back to work on Tuesday but Wednesday through Friday was bring your family to work so they had a lot of fun doing that. They had games, magicians, movies, and treats for the kids and then they had massages for the adults. The owner also paid a gas tanker to come to the Toyota Center and fill up all their tanks for free so they don't have to sit in the horrible lines to get gas. Also, every night they sent the family's home with care packages with milk, cereal and bread. So one day they had a puzzle competition and my niece won so she got to dress up as Mini Clutch (which is the mascot for the Rockets). The kids will be out of school until at least Thursday so my Sister in law is trying to convince my Brother to take some days off so they can go and stay with some friends in Dallas. Here are some pictures from their neighborhood and Brittanie dressing up.This is their school and you can't really tell from this pictures but the tree fell right
on about 6 Power lines.Brittanie is in the costume.

Birthday

Well Monday was my Birthday and I had such an incredible day. I had to work which was a bummer but the people at work bought me lunch and gave me some really nice gifts. When I went to pick Christian up from school he sang Happy Birthday to me and then I got two other phone calls from my nieces and nephews also singing, it was really cute. My license was expiring and I forgot to renew it and I had to go in and take a test but the good thing was that I was only at the DMV for 35 minutes which was a miracle. Since Dan really doesn't like to go out during the week and it was Monday so Football was on (We are going to go out on Friday night as a family), I went out with some girlfriends for dinner and it was so nice to just sit and be able to talk. I think we were at the restaurant for over 2 hours. Lastly, I came home and Daniel and Christian had made me cupcakes. It was a really great day. Also, about two weeks ago I gave myself an early birthday present and decided to go back to Weight Watchers. I had done it about 5 years ago and lost some weight so I thought I would try it again. I have lost over 6 pounds in the first 2 weeks so I am really excited, I don't know how well I will do this weekend since I have been celebrating but hopefully this time I can just change my eating habits forever. I will continue you to update my progress as the weeks go by. I hope that my birthday was an indication to how great this year will be.

A full weekend

Saturday Dan and I drove out to Desert Hot Springs to do some work on a property that my company had to foreclose on. Then we went to my sister's house to watch her kids for them while they went to the Temple and out to dinner. Then on Sunday we watch some football and then had a family party for my Birthday. It was really nice and I got some really great stuff. We were very grateful that New England were able to pull off the win this weekend without Brady. Also, this weekend we have been very worried for my Brother and his family that live in Houston. The Hurricane did hit them but luckily there was no major damage to their home. They have no power or electricity but they are surviving. So this weekend we were just full of work, fun and worry!

Mud Run

What can I say about today, It was much harder than they expected but they both can't wait to do it again. Christian finished his 1k in 28 minutes which was good seeing how he had to do over 20 obstacles, Dan finished in 42 minutes which was incredible. He said at the end that it was the hardest thing he has ever done in his whole life and he was very grateful he didn't do the 10k. If they do it again I will have to be better prepared because sitting in dirt with a 16 month old in 100 degree heat for 2 hours was not fun!
This was pre-race when they were nice and clean.

Christian liked that at every half mile mark of the race they had some kind of explosion, like bombs or trucks catching on fire. Ryan didn't really like the noise and Dan said it was a pain to run past it because it smelt of gas. Here Christian is waiting for Dan to run.

The boys wore bright blue shirts so that I could see them when they were running. Not a great idea since once they were muddy you couldn't really tell the color. Can you see Dan? His shirt now looks greenish!

Honestly these picture do not do justice to how bad Dan looked. This race completely kicked his butt and he has been drained all day. Dan has been running with a friend in the morning and normally they do between 5 and 7 miles and when he gets home he looks like he only ran around the block, well today you could tell he was whipped out!

Look at Christian's smile, he was so proud of Dan and was so excited to run his race. These next pictures are of Christian. Now this was called the 1k fun run, he doesn't look like fun to me.Christian needed help getting up from some of the pits so he grabbed this poor girl and then on the next one he grabbed the rope.

It was so gross watching him crawl in the muddy water!

He was so cute and sprinted to the finish line.

It was a great day and something our family will remember forever!

Football Season

Well today is Opening day for Football Season and so my life stops. I get to spend Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday either at home watching Football or going out alone. The first two years of our marriage I hated Football. I hated the fact that nothing came before football, if there was a game on, any game, he would want to stay home and watch it. Or if he did go out it had to be to a place that would have the game on so he could watch and then he wasn't much company anyways so it was worthless. Luckily I made a friend that change my life and marriage for the better. She taught me how to get through football season. How to except the fact that this is the way it is. How to not take it personal when he didn't want to take me out for my birthday because a game was on and the biggest thing was that to appreciate the better mood he was in while it was football season. Which was the best thing for me. Dan really is a totally different person during this season. So last year I decided to get involved. We started a football pool with my family where we pick the teams that are going to win each week and this year I have even joined a Fantasy league. It has been fun so far because he helps me and wants to talk all the time about what our teams will do. I am so thankful that Heavenly Father knows me and that he put a friend in my life that has change my perspective on things. Here's to making my marriage better and surviving the Football Season. GO PATS!

First Day of School

Christian started school today in Chino for the first time, he was really nervous but once he found his friend's that live near us he seemed to be a little better. His teacher seems to be really great, she knew it was his first day so she said that she would make sure he had a great day. The first day of school is a minimum day so he felt good that he only had to stay till after lunch, hopefully he will love 2nd grade as much as he did 1st. This past week we went to another Angel game and Ryan has started to try and play baseball. He grabs the bat and tries to hit the ball it is really cute I will try and get a video of it sometime. We had a great week just hanging out and relaxing and getting ready to get back into the routine of school days.
