Not as planned

This is the story of Megan's birth, it is kind of long but I just wanted to document it. I stopped working April 30th and was suppose to have 15 days to get everything ready for the arrival of our sweet Miss Megan. Well I think I over did it and that is why she came early. My Parent's moved in with us on May 2nd since their house sold and they haven't found another yet, so that whole weekend was getting things moved and organized. Then on Monday since the weekend had been so crazy I spent pretty much the whole day cleaning my house. Tuesday came and Christian begged me to walk him to school. I thought it is about a 1/2 mile so I should be able to do it. Well that is when everything started going wrong. I made it to the school ok but the walk home was awful and I started to have some contractions. Well when I got home I rested for most of the day and after eating dinner around 6 I was feeling much better. Daniel had a church meeting he had to go to at 7 so about 7:30 I went upstairs to put the boys in the bath. Well I got Ryan undressed and as I stood up I had a rush of fluid flowing out of me (that is as gross as I will get sorry) so I ran to the restroom called Christian to get me the phone and I sent him to get in the bath with Ryan. I frantically called Dan who didn't answer, I called my Mom who didn't answer and I called my Sister who also didn't answer. I was thinking don't these people know that I am 38 weeks pregnant they are suppose to answer when I call. I was totally hysterical as I called me Sister in Law who told me she was on her way immediately. She then called her Sister who lives really close to me and had her come over so she was there with in 5 minutes. Dan finally called me back and was on his way home so we could go to the hospital. I didn't have a bag packed for any of us and we didn't have the car seat ready but we rushed to the hospital anyway. Once I got checked in they took me to a triage station where they weigh me and monitor the baby. I told the nurse that I was bleeding and she didn't really seem to be paying attention since she was dealing with other patients also. So she finally came to check me it was 8:50pm by this time. She checked me and got this look of panic and said that I was dilated to a 5 and I had ruptured. With that she ran out of the curtain told some other nurses and then they all came in and started working on me. They paged my doctor and told me that I was going to be rushed into surgery and soon as everything was ready. They finally let Dan come in and explained that I was going to go have the C-Section immediately. I was totally freaked out but Dan was there to calm me down luckily and Megan was born at 9:45. The doctor thinks that either I had something rupture or that my placenta was ripping away from the uterus. So they sent a sample down to be tested and I should know in about a week or so what the outcome is and it could affect my next pregnancy, if there is another one? When I was in recovery Megan was having some complications. One they said that she had swallowed some blood so they had to suck a lot of junk out of her, second her oxygen level was really low and they couldn't get it stabilized and third they feed her and she was just throwing up everything. So they kept her in the nursery until 3:30am which really bothered me. I wanted to hold her and have her with me but they kept saying they had to monitor her for longer it was really upsetting. Luckily everything ended up fine and we are both doing really well at home. I am so thankful to have her here and apart of our family.

All this after we talked about how much less stress a "planned" C-section is! I'm glad everything turned out ok.
