A Night Away
Yesterday, Dan and I celebrated 4 years of marriage. I decided that we needed a night away. So my Parent's took Ryan and Megan for the night and my Sister took Christian. We just got a hotel near the airport so that we were close in case something happened and it was really cheap. The hotel room was really nice with a jacuzzi tub and we were able to go to dinner at Benihana's. It was a nice relaxing little break that I think we both needed. Happy Anniversary Dan I can't believe that we have been married for 4 years and that we have 2 amazing kids together. I Love You very much and can't wait to see what the future holds for us!

Firemen
Last week Riverside was having the Firemen at the Library so we went over and got to see the Firetruck and learn all about Firemen. We had a really great time I just love being able to do these fun things with the kids during the day. They taught the kids what to do if they caught on fire

Day off
Dan had Tuesday off this week so we went bowling. Christian beat Dan and I, it was crazy but we had such a great time. Ryan was more interested in the arcade than bowling and Christian would do this totally funny dance after every bowl. We had so much fun and laughed so hard, it was nice to do something with just the 5 of us!

Trade
So last week I made a trade with our friends the Salmon's. They took Christian for the day to Raging Waters and I took their 18 month old son Hudson. It was the perfect day. Christian came home so excited about all the fun he had and Ryan and Hudson got along so great. They played outside for over two hours together and I got to just sit on the patio swing and read a book. Then they ate lunch and both went down for about a two hour nap. After naps they played in Ryan's room until Hudson got picked up. Ryan and Hudson love to play the same things so I was a little worried that they would fight but they both shared so well together. It was such a nice break because I got to stay home and the kids were not bored. I will gladly make a trade like that anytime it was perfect. Hudson loved the ball sprinkler but didn't want to go in the little pool so he would just throw the balls in for Ryan to play with!

Two Month Stats
Last week Megan had her two month check up and she is doing really well. She is exactly 10 pounds and she is 21 3/4 inches. She is in the 30th percentile for both. I can't believe how fast the last two months have flown by!

Megan's Blessing
We blessed Megan in Church on Sunday July 5th which was her two month birthday also. Dan was more nervous with this blessing than he was with Ryan for some reason but he did an amazing job. He spoke some very sweet words and blessed her to be the peacemaker of our home which is really interesting because my Father had said the same thing in my blessing almost 30 years ago. After the blessing is completed the Church meeting is then opened up for what we call Testimony meeting which is when anyone can go up and bare their testimonies. It was really nice to hear my Brother and Mother bear their testimonies. Dan and I felt so blessed that so many friends and family joined us for this special occasion. After church we had a little luncheon at our house with some really good pork tacos that Cris and Kenna made for us but I have to say the best part of the day was the conversation we had. It is so nice to just be able to sit and hang out with family. Unfortunately, I did not do very well with taking pictures like I wanted and I didn't even get a picture of the boys with Megan in her blessing dress but at least we got a couple to document the day.

4th of July Traditions
I decided that if we have done something two years in a row it is now a family tradition. This is the case with the 4th of July. This year again we ran in a race in the morning, went swimming and then came back to our house for some good food and fireworks. It was such a great day. Their were 18 of us total that ran in a race, Dan ran a 10k in 58 minutes and I walked ran the 5k since I didn't really get to train. This year we ran the race down in Laguna Niguel at these beautiful parks it was so nice and right near the beach which helped keep the temperature cooler. They also had kid races so Christian ran 1/2 mile for his race and Ryan ran 50 meters. Ryan's race was first and he was a little hesitant about running but once he saw the other kids running he took off really fast but fell. Luckily he got back up and still came in second place it was so much fun. For Christian's race they had to run 2 laps around the park, he did a really great job and didn't walk any of it. Ryan loved running so much he actually joined the older kids for the second half of their race. The kids all got these really nice medals for running. So I decided that every year we will try to attend some sort of race on the 4th.
It was really cute they were singing the National Anthem before Ryan's race and he put his hand over his heart. Thanks Nick and Cris for another great firework show, unfortunately Ryan was totally afraid of them and spent the whole night in the house with Nico and Andrew watching Star Wars! Maybe next year he won't be as scared. For some reason Christian was dancing the Irish jig :)
